Today, the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, has been hosting political party leaders in the country following Albin Kurti and VV's failure to form Government. And the latter, except that he failed to make the parliamentary majority, did not even speak after meeting with the country's first, writes Periscopi.
After the meeting, which lasted about two hours, President Vjosa Osmani, Memli Krasniqi, Lumir Abdixhiku and Ramush Haradinaj declared themselves in front of the media.
Even the leaders of the PDK, LDK and AAK make <x0-secondary” their statement even on Facebook profiles.
Meanwhile Vetevendosje Chairman Albin Kurti and him NISMA, Fatmir Limaj, did not tire of saying anything.
It is not yet known whether this pair will extend the hand of co-operation after meetings that had no results.
What did Krasniqi, Obadiah and Haradinaj declare?
Initially, it was the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, the one who spoke to the media after the meeting.
The same claimed it became clear that no one has the parliamentary majority.
At this meeting, it was made clear by representatives of parliamentary parties that there is no parliamentary majority. It is now up to the president to determine whether there is a majority or not by Wednesday, November 5th. The sooner we proclaim the elections, we avoid crises that could be imposed. We didn't talk about date or political agreement. Here we were to give party positions and the president to assess whether there are numbers for a majority of”, Obadiah declared today.
The other leaders of the former opposition parties also spoke. Alliance for the Future of Kosovo leader Ramush Haradinaj said the country has no time to lose, adding that it is in the country's interest for the elections to be scheduled as soon as possible.
The “would be in Kosovo's interest for the election date to be set more quickly, within 30 days. The AAK position that we do not want to waste time in the first constitutional deadline to take place and hold the” elections, Haradinaj stressed.
As such, Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi was declared.
We've been warning this situation for months. At the moment, the road ahead is just announcing new elections”, he said.
But, despite the demands of these parties' statements, what makes the situation still not very clear for the next steps, are Osman's statements.
First, Osmani disclosed that Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti, the one who had the mandate to form the government but failed, has asked what he met once again before the 10-day term, which belongs to the second term.
“The leader of Vetevendosje has asked me to meet once again before the 10-day deadline expires, which is the definition of the second mandate and after consultations she has within the political party that she represents, whether she will come up with a proposal or not is a matter of their own, but we have the constitutional obligation to respect those” terms, she said at the news conference today.
Whether the VV will go with another proposal to try to create the government is still unknown. But during the days we left behind, there have been discussions that this party could again prove the government's creation. However, something like that has not yet been confirmed. Neither did Kurt, who was the only one who was declared after the meeting.
In contrast, unlike their current parties and statements, but in the past few days of elections, Osman took a different stance.
While the elections could be scheduled today, the president said she has another obligation.
Osmani declared its obligation is to strive to avoid elections.
The president's “task is to do everything possible to avoid elections. Political parties have their positions, but the president's obligation is to do their best to avoid elections. And this obligation I try to carry out in line with Constitution”, Osman said.
