Kosovo police have announced that with the aim of providing security and governance of the election process, a sufficient number of police officials of different profiles will be engaged, belonging to different units within the Kosovo Police.
The operational planning has envisioned implementation and implementation of the police operation in four phases, from pre-election or priced periods, then engagement in providing security during the pre-election campaign, engagement and ensuring security in the key phase of election day as the day (Z) as well as after elections envisioning transportation under PK's hand and security until the end of the process.
Kosovo police have taken additional measures, also appointing police co-ordinators with the CEC and other institutions engaged in the process, as well as drafting a roadmap for police officials regarding their legal duties and responsibilities during the election process.
According to police planning, the purpose of this operational order for this election process is:
• Establishing a peaceful and secure climate for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as maintaining order, calming and public security in the pre-term country and following the election process.
• Ensuring the polling centres, Municipal Election Councils, Municipal Deposits, the Centre for Counting and Central Deposit. Professionalism / Integrity / Accountability
• The safe approach and security of all the sense-of-election material from all previous destinations under the security plan until the police operation is completed, which is related to the election process.
• The initiative and prosecution of any criminal act against voting rights and the enterprise of all procedure/penal measures against anyone that conflicts with the country's positive laws regulating/sancitating illegal actions against free and democratic elections in co-ordination and close co-operation with the State Prosecutor according to the law-based action plans and preliminary agreements.
