Munich's cult restaurant, Opatija, has been rescued. After Maximilian Oberbiggler and Dominic Graf von Matuschka were forced to declare bankruptcy for the Adriatic restaurant this summer, a successor has now been found. At least for the restaurant in Rindermarkt.
Current owner started in the kitchen
Sefer Basota bought the iconic restaurant in Rindermarkt. He is not unknown to regular customers. He has been close to the restaurant, which specialises in the Adriatic kitchen for 30 years.
My heart's “beats on the option”, says the new owner, adding that the currently owned acquisition of Opatija, which has six employees, was “logical step” for him, reports tz.
Sefer Basota already worked in the original restaurant at Brienner Stra pursue:
I was originally in the kitchen, then waitress. ”
Recently, he held the manager's position. Now he owns Opatija. It remains silent for the price of sale this much: “was expensive. But it's worth it. ”
Sefer Basota is convinced he will restore the restaurant to his former glory.
Regular “licents return. Because I know almost all our clients.” I feel good about taking responsibility “
Let the menu be what it used to be
The menu must be “sic was once”, Sefer Basota says.
His favorite dish in Opatija is “Snicla Crokante” and “Special Optimist” with a pig stick and kebabcic.
Opitis is still closed on Sundays, but the plan is to open every day of the week in the future.
I miss staff”, Sefer Basota says.
Ralph Faltermeier retired because of his age
Opatia was a familiar meeting place for Munich's famous characters and artistic scene in the 1970s and 1980s. The story of the success of Opatija's restaurants began with Ralph Faltermeier, brother of the famous composer Harold Faltermeier (Ball Gun's sound color). But the founder retired two years ago because of his age. The era of Maximilian Oberbiggler and Dominic Graf von Matuschka lasted less than two years. /Periscope/
