Italian couple abducted, arrested after two years two Albanians in Italy

Two Albanians have been arrested in Italy. Two years earlier, the two Albanians arrested had kidnapped an Italian couple and robbed them of a total of 64 thousand euros.

Italian media record that they had threatened the Italian couple with weapons in order to steal gold money and jewelry, worth a total of approximately 64 thousand euros. The two arrested are in detention facilities, while expected to be brought to justice.

This precautionary measure is the culmination of a complex investigative effort co-ordinated by this prosecutor and carried out by the Department of Carabinieri mentioned from November 2023 to June 2025. This effort, including technical investigations and collection of victims' statements, has allowed the identification of persons responsible for a robbery aimed at robbery committed on November 28th, 2023, in Macerata, Chapania, inside the home of an Italian couple”, Italian authorities said./Periscopi/
