The Berlin process is an international platform uniting the governments of six Western Balkan countries, along with other European partners. The goal is to boost regional co-operation, support economic development and accelerate its efforts for a closer European approach to the Western Balkans.
The United Kingdom government said that until it develops its strategic alliance with Europe, it will work with Germany as the initiative of the Berlin Process on their common priorities in the Western Balkans.
From Kosovo to participate in this summit towards London has Prime Minister Albin Kurti travelled.
The United Kingdom also listed the main goals of this year's summit:
-to strengthen European security by supporting vulnerable NATO allies, opposing hostile influence and factors that promote instability, by building resistant communities as well as addressing common threats stemming from irregular migration, heavy organised crime and illegal financing.
-to promote economic growth by unlocking barriers to trade and investment through enhanced regional co-operation, supporting European integration and promoting the expertise and investment opportunities of the United Kingdom provided by British business and United Kingdom Export Finances (UKEF), reports eo.
The British government said the organisation of this summit by the United Kingdom falls on plans to change the British prime minister, since through this process it aims to boost international co-operation to reduce heavy and organised crime and irregular migration along key transit routes, help secure United Kingdom borders and maintain its safe roads.
The United Kingdom will organise a series of meetings at the ministerial level covering foreign, domestic and economic policy, climaxing with a Sam of leaders organised by the UK prime minister in London on 22 October. Numerous side events will take place in the months ahead of the summit, including forums on business, civil society, youth engagement and gender equality”, the British government's announcement said.
The special United Kingdom envoy to the Western Balkans, Dame Karen Pierce, is appointed to the post to improve the work of the United Kingdom with regional partners, including implementation of the Berlin Process.
