Former Kosovo Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj has welcomed Syria's recognition as a positive development for the country. He recalled his support of the Syrian opposition since March 2011, fighting the Assad regime.
“Since March 15, 2011, I have supported the Syrian opposition to remove Assad's brutal regime. On April 26, 2012, we waited in my office at the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Syrian opposition. I supported their fight and called for military intervention, publishing analysis as well. Foreign Policy,” said Hoxhaj.
He recalled attending meetings of Syria's <x0 Minster” since Paris, 2012, and meetings with the ministers of the new Syrian government in the spring of 2025, following the collapse of the Assad regime.
“I enjoy this news, just as Albanians living in the Balkans rejoice, but those in Damascus and Syria,” added Hoxhaj, stressing the importance of Kosovo always staying in favour of international fair causes.
