The 42-year-old Kosovo driver explained he was transporting the deceased from Luxembourg to Bulgaria, but there was no official certificate as a funeral vehicle.
Yesterday, Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, approximately 5:30 p.m., the officers of the Postau Border Police Inspectorate inspected a small German-registered van on his way to Austria on the A3 Highway at the intersection of Passau, South, broadcast albinfo.ch. During the extensive inspection, the officers noticed an unusual passenger in the back - a coffin containing a body.
The 42-year-old Kosovo driver explained he was transporting the deceased from Luxembourg to Bulgaria for a funeral. Although the driver was able to present all necessary transportation documents for the body, the van had no official certificate as a funeral vehicle according to the funerals' edition, reports pnp.de.
The vehicle was banned from continuing its journey until a certified replacement vehicle arrived.
The driver now faces administrative procedures for impeachment according to the Poverty Act.
