Fired by prosecutor Beqa Shala's post after being arrested under bribery

Shala has been arrested at his workplace Monday morning in a Special Prosecutorial Action of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK).

According to the announcement, prosecutor Shala has been suspended, until another Council ruling -- until the completion of the ongoing criminal procedure, respectively, reports “Justice Trust“.

Otherwise, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) announced on Monday that the general department's prosecutor at Prizren's Constitutional Prosecutor, Beq Shala, has been detained for 48 hours under suspicion of “bribery”.

Police investigators from the Directorate for Investigation of Organised Crime and War Crimes in Kosovo Police, under the order issued by the Constitutional Court in Pristina, have conducted raids on the office and on the suspect's residence. During the raid, material evidence has been seized that will serve during criminal investigation procedure”, the report said.

The special prosecutor announced that within the legal deadline set out in the Penal Procedure Code, he would apply for the appointment of the detention measure against the suspects.
