Veliaj had expressed the will to be present at this hearing, and for that reason the Constitutional Court asked the Directorate of Prisons and SPAK to take measures for his association.
The Council of Ministers dismissed Veliaj on September 25th, arguing that he has not been submitted for three months.
On October 1st, President Bajram Begaj decreed the partial elections in Tirana, but the decree was suspended with the ruling between the Constitutional Court.
Erion Veliaj is held under the measure of prison arrest since 10 February. Along with his wife, Ayala Xoxa is accused of corruption on 9 occasions.
Over Veliaj burdens 5 counts of corruption, abuse of duty, money laundering, property failure, and the introduction of forbidden items in cells.
