Albania's Democratic Party has decided not to be part of the protest in support of KLA fighters, but Sali Berisha, from the DP headquarters, voiced support for the KLA veterans' movement.

During a conference with reporters, Berisha stressed that KLA leaders who are being tried in The Hague are innocent.

“All my knowledge, pursuit of me, I have not absolutely seen any evidence to prove any charges for which former war leaders and political leaders of Kosovo were arrested and arrested. None! And I wish with my heart that court to declare their innocence and return to their country”, Berisha said.

But Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of using the KLA cause and protest for political purposes.

“The use for political purposes of the process is a macabre. Edi Rama withdrew, but I have here evidence that he was supposed to speak over an hour. Do you understand? He would become a patriot of the man who, by his actions, is as hostile to Kosovo as Alexander Vucic,”, he said.

Democratic Party Chairman Berisha said the Socialist vote against the resolution condemning the Serb genocide in Kosovo is one of the most serious acts of the Albanian Parliament.

“Such an act will be written in black letters on the walls of Parliament as the most hostile act of parliament to the Albanian nation”, Berisha added.

In communication with reporters, Berisha accused the president of the Republic and the Constitutional Court, who, according to him, illegally cut off the mandate of this court's member, Sonia Baytija.
