It comes with high intensity the trafficking of marijuana towards the Greek state. Greek police have hit another drug trafficking case, gripping a heavy burden on the Greek-Albanian border. Police officers from the Narcotics Department of Janina's Deputy Director of Investigation and Criminal Denial, in co-operation with the Konica Police Department, seized a large amount in an area of Konica, Janina.
In particular, in the context of continued police raids, a private car driver, understanding the presence of police and avoiding close control, made a turn in the country, further increasing speed. During the attempt to escape, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to deviate and stop, while then fled on foot, taking advantage of the darkness as well as forested and difficult terrain in the area.
During the search of the abandoned car, which carried foreign license plates, 125 packets of marijuana were found and seized, with a total weight of 193kg and 212 grams.
The vehicle was seized, while investigations by the Narcotics Department, in co-operation with the Department of Criminal Investigations of the Regional Directorate of the Epirus Police, to reveal the identity of the vehicle director are under way. The total amount seized by Greek police in the past two months allegedly coming from Albania is about 435kg of marijuana. 2 cases have been seized in Thessaloniki, 1 in Costur, 1 in Janina and 2 in Igumenica, one on the street./Periscopi/
