However, Bulgaria would be willing to allow Putin to use its airspace if the summit is held in Hungary, Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev was quoted as saying.
“I cannot guarantee that an independent Polish court will not order the government to escort such a plane to hand over the suspect to The Hague tribunal. And so, for this reason, if this summit is going to develop, hopefully with the participation of the aggression victim, the plane will use another” route, Poland Foreign Minister Radoslaa Sikorski told Radio Rodzina.
The International Criminal Court's arrest warrant (GJNP) obliges court member states to arrest Putin if he violates their territory. Sikorski last week accused Russia of an escalation of the war in Ukraine, saying her fearful withdrawal in Poland last month seemed to be intentional. /Periscopi/
