Asked during an interview at Bloomberg Podcasts, broadcast Friday, if Canada would arrest Netanyah, Carney replied decisively “po” but did not elaborate.
The Canadian prime minister also said recognition of a Palestinian state had been a priority for his policies, but that this was not the end.
“Fundi is a Palestinian free and stable state that lives side by side, in peace and security, the state of Israel”, he said, the times of Israel.
While Canadian politics has been supporting a two-state solution since 1947, Carney explained that his decision to formally recognise a Palestinian state was now because the “actions of the Netanyah government were clearly designed to end any possibility for a Palestinian state in violation of the UN Charter and contrary to the policy of the Canadian government of any kind since 1947<1>. /Periscope/
