After a brief illness, Skopje-renowned analyst and publicist Agim Jonuz, one of the most special voices of public life in northern Macedonia, known for its political analyses, public debates and direct attitudes for developments in the country and the region.
Agim Jonuz was a popular figure for the general public as political analyst, publicist and former government spokeswoman, who is often engaged in identity-related issues, interethnic relations and integration processes of the country.
In his comments and interviews, Jonuz has been critical of exclusive policies and has called for co-existence, mutual respect and an equal state for all citizens, writes Time. mk, broadcast Periscope.
Agim Jonuz was born and grew up in Skopje, where he developed much of his professional life. He has been engaged in the public and private sector for many years, while exercising the duty of North Macedonia Government spokesman at different periods, where he is praised for professional access and clear communication with public opinion.
In the business field, he was executive director of the company “VIA Group Defence”, with activities in Skopje, Ankara and the Middle East, while at the same time being adviser and consultant in various economic and security areas.
As political analyst, Jonuz was present at many television debates and public forums, where he commented on political developments in the country, relations between ethnic communities and the Euro-integration route of Northern Macedonia.
He was known for his direct, often provocative style, but always motivated by a desire for social and institutional improvement.
In one of his well-known statements, Jonuz had said that <x0m Albanian from Macedonia, and that is wealth, not division”, stressing the importance of dual identity and tolerance in a multiethnic society.
