Albanian media: Lieburn Aliu appointed to public office in Albania

In a surprise movement, former Infrastructure Minister Libon Aliu has been appointed to the position of Durres Port Director, the portal reports. VNA.al in Albania based on resources.

Two months after resigning from the incumbent Minister of Infrastructure's position at Court 2, Aliu, one of Vetevendosje's prime figures has been appointed director of the Durres Port.

As reported VNA.al in Monday's exclusive reporting, Aliu has been appointed director with the decision of Minister of Infrastructure and Energy in Albania's Government, Belinda Balluk, broadcast Periscope.

VNA.al writes that besides Aliu, who will take over the Port of Durres, Minister Balluk has also appointed the new director of the Directorate General for Transportation Services. Kreshnik Bayraktari has been appointed to this position.

Lieburn Aliu is one of the founders of Vetevendosje and for many years one of the closest people of Albin Kurti, LVV chairman and acting prime minister of the Government of Kosovo.

He served for more than four years as Minister of Infrastructure at Court 2.

Two months ago, Aliu resigned from the Kurti Government following internal disputes. Publicly, in announcing the resignation, the former minister said the reason for his resignation was his proposal by Vetevendosje and the election of Dimal Basha at the head of the Kosovo Assembly.
