The Albanian, whose identity has not yet been made public, has no criminal precedents and is unknown to the French police, Mulhouse's prosecutor announced on October 28th.
The victim, a 33-year-old woman born in Georgia, worked as a bartender at a local bar. She was stabbed to death on October 25th, the moment she was opening the workplace. According to preliminary investigations, she had lived for three years with the suspected author, from whom she had recently been separated, JOQ reports, broadcast Periscope.
The prosecution doubts that the motive for the event is related to jealousy and rejection of separation, a factor often mentioned in childicide cases. Her boss, Farouk Tas, who first arrived at the scene, told France 3 Grand Est:
“She was like my daughter. She was an extraordinary woman. We're in shock, we saw everything with our own eyes. We're destroyed..”
An autopsy of the victim's body is expected to take place at the Strasbourg Institute of Legal Medicine, while security cameras are being revised to whiteen every detail of the event.
