According to Croatia's Customs report, customs officers, in co-operation with police at the Karasovic border checkpoint, have prevented smuggling efforts during an exit control from Croatia.
During the detailed search of a vehicle run by Albanian nationals, authorities found 702 thousand and 435 euros in cash hidden.
According to Croatian Customs, the driver had not met the legal obligation to declare the amount in Customs Administration or Border Police, neither in writing nor electronically. He hid the money in the vehicle.
The money has been seized, while the Albanian citizen has been arrested under suspicion of committing illegal smuggling and has been sent to custody. /Periscope/
