This was announced at a meeting of Interior Minister Albana Kociu with State Police General Director Ilir Proda.
The ban on electric trolls has been made temporarily, until the drafting of a full plan, as Minister Kociou stated.
By then, strict new rules will be prepared, which will include movement, age and speed, Euronews.al writes.
I've asked the State Police today to temporarily prevent the flow of electrical monopathics on the road. I also want to inform all who view electrical monopathy as a business way of renting a day so they don't invest in this activity. The permit will take place only after the end of this process and will be valid only for the personal use of these tools. We will draw up clear and applicable rules from all”.
We will determine which lanes, roads or spaces where electrical monopathies can be used and where not, as well as the criteria for age use, protection measures such as helmets, lighting and speed allowed. However, until the drafting of a complete regulatory framework, public interest requires immediate intervention”, Minister Kociu said.
State police will block circulations from Monday, while State Police General Director Ilir Proda announced that 991 cases of accidents caused by these vehicles have been recorded during the year 2024.
The state police will be involved in an operation to stop the circulation of these tools from Monday, and therefore we seek the citizens' understanding during this process. We have done a detailed analysis of this phenomenon and have concluded that using these tools causes an immediate danger to public safety. It is sufficient to mention that in the year 2024 alone, 991 cases of accidents were reported with these vehicles from the Emergency. Among these cases there have been serious fatalities and serious injuries”, Proda said. /Periscopi/
