In RTSH, Ahmeti stressed that his goal and that of the Albanian prime minister has always been good in relation to Kosovo, despite public perceptions.
We haven't even thought about it, nor have we ever worked against it, rather, we have tried to work for the benefit of any political force in the country”, Ahmeti said.
DUI leader confirmed that he and Albania's prime minister have tried to influence the situation, exploiting ties with Western partners. He discovered that he had discussed the matter several times with Rama, who had asked how he could get out of this situation.
“We are not people without friends in Brussels and Washington who can influence Kosovo. Like me like Rama, we told Albin Kurt about their concerns. But there has been no reaction”, the DUI leader said, hinting that the obstacle lies in Pristina's lack of co-operation, RTS reports.
Ahmeti stressed that instead of division, the whole region urgently needs unity, especially Kosovo, in the face of the challenges of integration processes.
We need a lot of unity. There is a lot of work Kosovo money for EU membership. We need shoulder to be together because integration processes are important for both Kosovo, Albania, as well as for northern Macedonia”, Ahmeti appealed.
He added that although Kurti has intervened in several cases in the North Macedonia issue, “personally would never intervene”, voicing the position that politics should create strengthening and not divisions. /Periscopi/
