Narcotics worth 16m euros were found in the apartment of a 23-year-old Albanian man along with a pistol, ammunition and approximately 30,000 euros in cash.
The young man's apartment resulted in a “logistical centre” for the preservation and distribution of the substance.
The drug was discovered after the Carabinieri stopped the young man from having a search, suspicious of his behavior. They found a large sum of money in his bag, which could not be justified, as, after the investigation, 23-year-old resulted in unemployment.
According to Carabinieri, drugs were intended to fill Rome's public squares, and revenues were used to finance further illegal activities by criminal gangs.
To avoid detection during the transportation and sale of cocaine, the young man, who was sent to the Rebibbbaia prison, used a car equipped with a false skirt that could be opened with a combination of buttons and key use, reports A2. CNN.
