Electricity consumption in the country has seen significant increases compared to the same period last year. Only from October 1st to October 27, 2025, about 429 million kWh of electricity have been consumed in Kosovo, compared to 362 million kWh registered during the same period a year ago. This means an increase of about 18.5 percent of energy demand.
This increasing trend of electricity use for heating, especially after temperature cooling, is leading to overloads on the distribution network. KEDS stresses that intensive use of heating, inverter and electric furnaces is increasing the risk of inevitable cuts.
The company is taking additional measures to manage the situation successfully, increasing team monitoring and intervention in high-loaded areas. Despite continued investments in network reinforcement, rapid consumption growth within such a short period creates challenges for the stable functioning of the electroditributive system.
KEDS appeals for consumers to use electricity carefully and avoid unnecessary loads of electrical equipment, especially during peak hours. Any rational consumption contributes to the security of supply and the reduction of overload opportunities in the network.
The company remains committed to providing the most stable electricity supply and transparent information to citizens about the real-time network situation.
