According to the report for the last quarter, Meta employed about 72 thousand people - five percent of the workplace will affect approximately 3600 people. The affected employees will be announced by 10 February, reports Tech Crunch.
“I decided to increase performance management level and quickly remove weak performance performers”, Zuckerberg said in a memo.
The company previously eliminated 21,000 jobs in 2022 and 2023, or almost a quarter of its workforce, CNBC reports.
Meta then claimed that layoffs were necessary to improve efficiency after the company employed many people during the coronary virus pandemic.
