President-elect Donald Trump today will be sworn in as US President of 47 in a four-year term at the White House. In the U.S. capital, however, security has increased for the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has said in front of his supporters in Washington a day before returning to the White House that he will impose strict restrictions on immigration on his first day in office, promising to fulfil his campaign's main promise swiftly.
Trump reiterated his campaign pledge to undertake the greatest deportation attempt in the history of the United States.
Trump has said he will forgive many of the more than 1500 convicted or accused in connection with the attack. Sunday's rally of Mr. Trump, along with his inaugural speech Monday, could determine the tone of his second term at the White House.
It was his first speech in Washington since his speech on January 6, 2021, before the Capitol attack by a crowd of his supporters.
Thousands of supporters of the elected president waited in cold and rain for hours to attend his victory rally.
Earlier Sunday, Trump had breakfast with the Republican American senators near the White House.
He then placed a crown on the tomb of Unknown Soldier in the Arlington National Graveyards on Sunday.
