In an email, his administration has asked almost all government employees until February 6th to decide whether they want to be part of a “delay” programme, which means they leave work no later than late September.
Those who received the email have expressed confusion about what the agreement means in practice.
Senior Trump officials told American media that the plan could save the government up to $100 billion (80 billion pounds).
