Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been invited by US President Donald Trump for a meeting at the White House on February 4th, Israeli office said on Tuesday.
“Netanyahu is the first foreign leader to be invited to the White House in the second term of Trump”, said in the statement.
A White House official has confirmed the invitation and said the meeting will take place “early next week”.
“Holles will become public when finalised”, this official said.
The meeting between Trump and Netanyah comes after the US president has declared he is responsible for achieving the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza after months of unsuccessful negotiations.
Hamas is the Palestinian group leading Gaza, declared terrorist by the United States and the European Union.
During the first term, Trump has often said that Israel “never had a better friend at the White House”, and this is often claimed by Netanyah.
Shortly after the start of the second term, Trump has approved the sending of 2,000 bombs to Israel, though former President Joe Biden had not allowed that.
