Albania's President Bajram Begaj has welcomed the arrival of the Gaza Gunfire Agreement. In a post on social networks, the head of state stressed that its full implementation is essential for a lasting peace and for easing the suffering of the affected.
I welcome the Gaza truce agreement, marking the end of more than 15 months of conflict. I appreciate the efforts of mediation from the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and others. Full implementation of the agreement is essential for a lasting peace and relief of suffering for all affected in the region”, Begaj wrote on X.
After 15 months of fighting Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages. The agreement will take effect Sunday 19 January and is in three phases.
