Fire chief John Donnelly has indicated that his team has continued intensive research in the river and that more troops have been extracted, bringing the total number of victims to 40.
This information comes after a long period of research and rescue, as fire crews and other professionals have worked without stopping to identify and extract lifeless bodies from the water.
The event has caused deep shock and has attracted the attention of security and rescue forces from around the region.
Rescue teams, including firefighters, soldiers, and other experts, have worked under very difficult conditions, facing dangerous terrain and unfavourable conditions, such as constant rain and turbulent waters that have hampered the speed of research.
According to recent information, passengers aboard the aircraft were mainly travelers from several countries, including a group of tourists and several airline employees.
According to authorities, 64 passengers were aboard the plane, while three other soldiers were on the helicopter that was part of the rescue operation. So far, there are still many unresolved questions, as authorities have announced that 27 people are still undiscovered and still have no information about their fate.
