Regarding comments and statements that have circulated recently regarding conditions at the Kosovo Specialised Chambers Pre-prisonment Centre ( DPSK) in The Hague, as well as claims that Nasim Haradinaj was violated as he was in detention, The DHSK says the International Committee of the Red Cross carried out ongoing inspections without warning.
Special spokeswoman Angela Greep, during the weekly conference, explained that this object is monitored by the above-mentioned Committee, which, according to her, carried out unannounced and independent inspections to see whether the rights of the detainees are respected according to international standards.
Recent “weeks have had comments on the detention conditions. I want to take the opportunity to explain that the detention facility of The DHSK is monitored by the International Committee of the Red Cross (NNKK), which conducted regular, warned and independent inspections in the detention facility to see respect from the human rights detention unit, international law and the accepted standards of treatment”, Greep said.
She also cited the DPS ombudsman, who, according to her, conducted regular injections for monitoring the detention conditions. /Betimy for Justice
