Vucevic resigned on Tuesday in an effort to ease political tensions sparked by weeks of anti-corruption protests, prompted by the collapse of a concrete structure in Novi Sad railway station.
But the tragedy has highlighted civic discontent with the authoritarian regime, and has prompted manifesters to seek more transparency.
