Senior American official this week visits Kosovo: normalisation of relations with Serbia to be discussed

Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Insurance Richard R. Verma will travel to Kosovo, Albania and Serbia from 7-11 January.
As the State Department announced in Kosovo, Verma will discuss “the normalisation of relations with Serbia through EU-attensed Dialogue, strengthening governance and rule of law, as well as promoting economic growth and energy security for the benefit of all Kosovars”.
“He will also thank the Government of Kosovo for Ukraine's strong support and for its help to Afghans in need”, the report said.
In Tirana, according to the announcement, he will discuss Albania's democratic progress, defence capabilities and deepening economic ties with the United States, and will thank Albania's Government for continuing support of our Afghan allies.
Even in Serbia, the US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Insurance is said to provide support for the normalisation of this country's relations with Kosovo.
“It will also reaffirm the United States' commitment to the countries of the Western Balkans, while they pursue Euro-Atlantic integration and deeper regional co-operation”, the DASA report said.
