Security during elections, police show operational plan

In order to provide security and governance for the election process, police said it is meant to engage a sufficient number of mainly public order police officials, but as necessary police officials of different profiles, belonging to different units within the Kosovo Police.
This operational plan has preceded four stages:
1) Pre-election period or value preparation,
2) A commitment to security delivery during the election campaign,
3) Guarantee security at the key stage of election day (Z)
4) The period after elections envisioning transportation under KB's support and security, sensitive material until the end of the process.
The first phase has already been realised, since we are now at the beginning of implementing the second phase, to proceed according to plan with other phases, until the election process is completed.
According to police planning, the purpose of this operational order for this election process is:
• Establishing a peaceful and secure climate for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as maintaining order, calming and public security in the pre-term country and following the election process.
• Ensuring polling stations, municipal elections councils, municipal depots, the centre of counting results and central warehouses.
• The safe approach and security of all the sense-of-election material from all previous destinations under the security plan until the police operation is completed, which is related to the election process.
• The initiative and prosecution of any criminal acts against voting rights and the undertaking of all procedure/penal measures against anyone who conflicts with the country's positive laws regulating/sancitating illegal actions against free and democratic elections in co-ordination and close co-operation with the State Prosecutor according to the law-based action plans and preliminary agreements.
Kosovo police, based on the memorandum of co-operation between the Police, Prosecutor and the CEC, have appointed officials/investigators to all regional directorates for handling any possible case linked to the election process, under the authorisation of prosecutors scheduled for the case by the State Prosecutor. Police also said police have been appointed police co-ordinators with the CEC, as well as guidelines for police officials regarding their legal duties and responsibilities during the election process.
Kosovo police have said they remain committed to the realisation of their legal duties and responsibilities in a professional manner towards citizens and the country, as well as to be transparent on its police work and commitments.
