US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma has said the FBI's investigation into the attack on Kosovo's critical infrastructure is still continuing, until she even spoke about US relations with Kosovo.
In an interview at the “KTV”, he said that Unilateral <x0 actions can lead to incorrect signals”.
“Again, one of the reasons I wanted to come here is our firm and powerful commitment to the people of Kosovo. I have seen the remarkable progress we have made over many years, and I am very pleased and quite sure where we have arrived. When we have challenges or disagreements, we talk about them openly. And I mentioned that sometimes unilateral actions, for example, like closing some institutions, can also send the wrong signal where the Kosovo Serbs adapt to society, and I think this has been challenging for continued progress in the relaxed discussion between the two states...”
Verma has stressed that the US condemns attacks on Kosovo's critical infrastructure until it praised the work of the country's police and emergency services.
“We condemn planned attacks against infrastructure and appreciate everything Kosovo Police and emergency services did to react so quickly. Also, we have offered all possible support for investigations through our colleagues from the FBI and the Department of Justice. These investigations are ongoing, and I would urge everyone to wait for their conclusion before declaring someone responsible. But these kinds of attacks are unacceptable in any circumstance”.
Asked if there was news from the FBI investigation, he added that work is continuing with <x0) To find the chief of the work.
“Projects are still continuing and we will continue to provide our support. Let's wait and see what conclusion the teams will draw. I think they're working very aggressively to find the perpetrators so that they can render an account” he said the American official.
Otherwise, Verma has today met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani.
He is staying in Kosovo under a visit to the Western Balkans, including Tirana and Belgrade.
