Learning in Kosovo schools will resume on Wednesday (morrow).
This moment marks the return of students and teachers to classes on the second half anniversary, after two weeks of winter break.
Schools have been prepared for this new educational period, while education leaders and trade unions are carefully monitoring the situation for any possible development in terms of education workers' demands and government policies.
The chairman of the United Education Union (SBASHK), Nundman Jasharaj, has not ruled out that during this half-year there may be union actions like strikes and protests.
Jasharaj for “Front Online” has indicated that after the return of teachers to schools, a conversation will be held with them to review the situation and union measures that can be taken.
Wednesday will begin the second half-year anniversary. When the teachers return to school, we will talk to them and see what decisions we are making”, he said.
He stressed that the union will be cautious in its actions, given the start of the political campaign and fears that any decision can be misinterpreted, especially, as he says, by the government.
We'll be very cautious about syndical action as political campaigns begin not to read us as the wrong message if the government is in the habit of swearing that we are with them and someone else. If we hold a strike, it could accuse us as the ruling party has tradition of being with them or with these”, Jasharaj stressed.
According to Jasaw, education workers are disappointed with the actions of the Government and the Ministry of Education, saying protests and strikes so far have had no impact on the realisation of their demands.
The educational workers are also disappointed with Kurti and Nagavcin”, he said.
