“They should not be prosecuted. Many of them are elderly. They should not be prosecuted,” He said.
American media report that one of the pardons is Lauren Handy, leader of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Supervising (PAAU) group.
The group was convicted of plotting in 2020 to attack a reproductive health clinic in Washington and block access to scare patients and staff.
Members broke into the Surgi Clinic, wounding a nurse and spending several hours inside.
Haddy was convicted in August 2023 and sentenced in May 2024.
Abortion rights became a key issue in the 2024 presidential race after the US Supreme Court overturned 1973 ruling Roe versus Wade in 2022, ending nearly 50 years of federal defense for abortion.
