The Exchange Association “Podujevo-Pristina” has temporarily suspended its passenger transport activity as a result of the reportedly “flagrant fundamental rights breach and bankruptcy risk”.
In an official report, the association has stressed that the situation is a consequence of the Pristina municipality's actions, which have issued new transportation lines by bypassing legal procedures and rights belonging to existing operators.
“These actions, according to the association, have caused serious economic damage, jeopardising its existence and jobs for many dependent on the sector”, the report says.
For this reason, carriers urgently seek the intervention of competent institutions to address this legal violation and take immediate measures to enable the continuation of transport services under fair and legal conditions for all operators.
The association also wants the Pristina municipality to review its decisions and ensure a fair and equal market for all operators, respecting competition and legal framework. /kp/
