Former Slovenian President Borut Pahor has confirmed that he has not submitted candidacy for the post of new EU envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Slovenian media today report.
Pahor earlier expressed his willingness to take the post, but as a reason for his decision not to run, he cited several factors, including disagreement with the EU's official policy of enlargement, the STTA reports.
My personal views on EU enlargement differ from official EU policy”, Pahor said.
Borut Pahor was Slovenia's president from 2012 to 2022 and is a politician who advocates the admission of new EU members into a package.
Pahor believes promoting the idea that Montenegro and Albania should join the EU as soon as possible would be “more an obstacle than an incentive”.
