Following the zomies at Recak's Memorial Complex, the memorial ceremony has been held on the 26th anniversary of Recak's Massacre.
President Vjosa Osmani has said that Recak is not only a tragedy associated with this village and its inhabitants, but a testimony to the long suffering of our people.
<> <> There's where 26 years ago the human and the cruel had the most greedy match in this part of Europe. On a grim day of January 1999, 45 residents of Recak, among whom men, senior women were massacred by Serbia's genocide regime, disposing the fierce face of genocide and oppression. Recak is not just a tragedy related to this village and its inhabitants, a testimony to the long - suffering of our people. The images of that massacre that shook the world and affected the international conscience, all thanks to our great friend William Walker, who courageously and devotedly gave voice to the undeniable truth of the suffering of our people”, Osmani said.
She stressed that when Recak's people were massacred in Serbia, propaganda for the reasoning of such massacres made the ministry for Information by the name of Alexander Vuciq.
At the time that Recak and Kosovo seek justice for the innocent victims of war, what we see in Serbia is the continuation of the 90th years, the thought that causes over 100,000 civilians killed in this part of Europe. When Recak's men were massacred, in Serbia propaganda for the reasoning of such massacres made the minister for Information, named Alexander Vuciq. Today, the same one under Serbia's president's clothing continues to deny the Recak massacre, denies what the world witnessed calling Milosevic a great man with good intentions. And as a propagandist on one side, he speaks of peace, and on the other side sends his paramilitary terrorist forces to attack Kosovo. But, as in the 1990s, so today Kosovo has boys and girls who own their homeland and defend every inch of it”, Osmani said. /EO/
