The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has received an invitation from members of the United States Congress (Sennati and the House of Representatives), to attend the inauguration of the new American President Donald Trump. However, she will not attend.
President Osmani's media adviser, Bekim Kupina, has announced to Gazeta Express that Osmani has sent a delegation from her cabinet, where, together with US Ambassador Ilir Dugolli, they will represent Kosovo in the inaugural activities of January 19-21st dates.
He said that based on protocol tradition, most countries are represented by their accredited ambassadors in Washington D.C.
“Praising this event as an important moment in relations between Kosovo and the United States, the president has decided to send a delegation of her cabinet”, he said.
On the other hand, he said President Osmani has already had the opportunity to personally congratulate President Trump during a proper conversation held last month at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
“This ongoing commitment reflects Kosovo's commitment to strengthening co-operation with the new American administration and advancing common interests”.
