The Central Election Commission has extended the deadline for accrediting observers from political parties for 5 days.
Under the law, this process must be completed 25 days before election day.
At the CEC meeting Monday, the proposal for delaying the date made representatives of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and Vetevendosje Movement, but Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi said it constitutes legal violations.
On Thursday, the CEC announced the decision to postpone.
The Central Election Commission at Monday's meeting had accredited 2,274 observers from 4 parties for the February 9th parliamentary elections. 95 of them are Democratic Party, 1,725 of the Democratic League, 234 of the Vacat coalition, while 220 of “Demoktratska Stranka”.
