The director of the Kosovar Centre for the rehabilitation of Torture Survivors (QKRMT), Feride Rushiti, who has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, has suggested that Serbia would commit itself to opposing that.
She has declared that the Serbian state will lobby against this proposal.
“Serbia will activate lobbyists against this nomination, but it is a major victory for Kosovo and the cause of survivors of sexual violence”, she said.
Rushiti has suggested that her nomination for the prize is a global recognition of Kosovo's efforts and war crimes survivors.
“As an organization, we have worked for groups that we also represent, and we have never been motivated or guided by international gratitude, no doubt those times when we have received inspiration and energy to move forward on the challenges with which we also represent the cause that we defend. However, the Nobel Prize nomination has come without our knowledge”, Rushiti said, reports Online Economy.
