Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia has reacted after the November 30th 2024 letter was published, where Macedonia pledged to respect April 2013 letter where then Hashim Thaci as prime minister guaranteed that the KSF would not be sent to the north.
Such a letter as Albin Kurti had been named “
But such competition has been given by Ejup Macedonia, the minister of Kurti.
And he has reacted on Facebook, saying the letter was not re-assuming, but clarification of the November 24th situation, when the Ceremonial Guard was engaged in the country's north at a mortuary ceremony.
“There is no re-assuming, but nothing new clarification to the public presents letters sent to KFOR commander for the November 24th event of 2024, when the ceremony Guard was engaged in the north of the country in a mortore ceremony. The purpose of the letter sent has been clarified before and it remains valid because it is true. The letter in question has been sent with the aim of clarifying the KFOR commander's circumstances in the commitment of an KSF unit to one of the municipalities in the north of the country, as well as ensuring what has not been intended in any case to strain the situation. In no way, the letter represents re-assertion and cannot be interpreted as re-assertion, as there is a document in force issued by former Prime Minister Thaci in April 2013, sent to NATO Secretary General, from which they submit and the terms of operation and co-ordination of KSF and KFOR for the northern part of Kosovo”.
The “I repeat, just as I said in every public presentation I made, that I personally disagree with that pledge, as I continue to think it was wrong and harmful commitment to our army, as well as to long-term consequences. But as we have declared as the Ministry of Defence and as the Government of Kosovo, the 2013 pledge letter will be respected because we are responsible for the inherited institutional obligations as long as they are in force. The responsibility of KFOR's commander and mine now when the 2013 pledge given by former Prime Minister Thaci is to ensure that we do the necessary actions to ensure that our military engagement in the north is co-ordinated”, Macedonia has written.
