Kosovo on the voter list, KEC member: The blame goes to MPB and the Comuna

Today the Central Election Commission has certified the list of people who have the right to vote in the February 9th elections of 2025. According to the voting list, which is certified by the CEC, totals 2 million and 75 thousand and 868 voters. Of these, 1 million and 970 thousand and 944 are eligible to vote in the polls. [...]
Of these, 1 million and 970 thousand and 944 are eligible to vote at the polls in Kosovo, and 104 thousand and 924 are registered to vote from outside Kosovo.
This figure represents a huge difference with the number of citizens registered in the population registration process, which according to official final data is 1 million and 586 thousand and 659. If only the number of those eligible for voting in the polls in Kosovo is taken, it stands out 384 thousand and 285.
The difference is even greater in view that from the total number of registered citizens, there are also persons of the new age who unjustly vote and turn 18 either on election day.
The Express member has spoken on this. The PDK at the Central Election Commission, Arian Elshani, saying there are some reasons for this.
Elshani has said that citizens who are over 18 years old and also citizens living abroad are included on the voter list.
The voter list included all citizens who until election day are over 18 years old. The voter list included all citizens living abroad”, Elshani has said.
He has also said that voters include dead persons, who have not been reported by their families either in the municipality or in the Civil Record Agency.
Elshani says that according to the latest population census, around 1.2 million Kosovo citizens are over 18 years old, which according to Elshani implies that another 900 thousand are citizens living abroad and who have died.
The voter list included people who died, but who were not reported by their families in Komuna and ARC. With the latest population census, around 1.2 million Kosovo citizens are over 18 years old, which reportedly some 900 thousand are citizens living abroad and some who have died”, the CEC member has added further.
He has said that voters' lists get from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and that according to him it stands on the MPBs and municipalities that são have updated the databases.
So, the blame lies there and the municipalities, which don't have up-to-date data”, has ended Elshani.
