KMDLNj: Visit to The Hague for Self and Tourism, Parliament to Ensign Special Laws

The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has reacted sharply to the lack of transparency and accountability of the Special Court, stressing that this court does not respond to Kosovo institutions.

According to the council, even the treatment of prisoners is discriminated against, until it calls from the Kosovo Assembly for the Special Court to ensure an effective monitoring mechanism, not to remain just as it calls the” fraudulent statement”.

” The KMDLNj has consistently insisted that the Kosovo Assembly, as founder, hold one or more sessions where transparency and accountability for the treatment of The Hague hostages would in no way be taken as interference in the work of this court.

MPs from the Kosovo Assembly split on party and political grounds have not made even the slightest effort to play the role of elected people and the fulfillment of the binding mandate for representation and protection of human rights, respectively, the human rights of persons deprived of freedom. The KNKK from Geneva has no time to meet the prisoners and to listen to reasonable concerns, while the Netherlands' ombudsman has nothing to do with the issue and does not recognise Kosovo authorities.

The hostages at The Hague have been visited by Parliament deputies, by the Parliament's Commission for Human Rights, by ministers, Mr. Prime Ministers and Speaker of the Parliament. Kosovo's president and prime minister have not shown the slightest interest in visiting that, according to KMDLNj, is a discriminated approach.

Visits have also become selective, for tourism, for quality and for political and material benefits. Especially materially, for in addition to a well - paying job, they have been hired for such visits.

Previously, the Speaker of the Parliament had requested monitoring mechanism, and that was all he did. It was ordiner fraud.

A month before parliamentary elections and before the end of the mandate, the justice minister sought to form a local or international mechanism for monitoring, though he has left no stone unable to move to make life as heavy as possible and reduce the possibilities for effective protection. KMDLNj stresses these are fraudulent statements, for domestic use, for political gain and vote purchases.

The KMDLNj reminds the opinion that no visit from Kosovo regardless of which institution they belong does not count as an official visit, but as a private or family visit that clearly indicates the contempt the Court made even the highest institutional representatives.

KMDLNI hopes the future composition of the Kosovo Assembly will be more responsible, professionally and institutionalally, aggregating the Law for the Special Court by seeking transparency, accountability and working deadlines, or, which would be considered responsible and minimally fair to declare that this Court is not, with nothing of Kosovo”.
