The Mitrovica court has approved the prosecution's request to appoint 30 days of detention E. R., a police official who allegedly caused the fatal accident at Cubrell where three people died.
This accident occurred in 26.01,2025.
The prosecution on 28.01.2025 had requested the detention measure for E. R. but that the suspect's defender had opposed him, demanding that the house arrest measure be appointed with the reason for his condition and that the work was carried out by negligence.
E. R. According to the court's announcement, it could not be declared due to the state of health.
The trial judge was Valon Hajdini.
Hearing hearings related to this case have been held in the spaces of the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo, due to the treatment the suspect was receiving for the accident.
“Gjykata after praising the party's claims has found that the Constitutional Prosecutor's request in Mitrovica for the appointment of the detention measure against the defendants is based on the grounds that the court has found there is suspicion that the same one has carried out the criminal work described as in the prosecution's request” - the Constitutional Court's act in Mitrovica-based court- Skenderaj branch.
According to the Court's announcement, the accident occurred when the defendant has not adjusted the speed of moving on the Peja trovica road to the village of Cubrel.
The tribunal's report said the car driver had appeared on the opposite strip of Peja Mitrovica Street and, as a result, hit the Golf vehicle, which has been moving from direction of Mitrovica Peja.
The official police defendant, E. R. was running the VW-type van, white and the other Golf IV gray vehicle was already directed by the late A. G., who died at the scene. Based on the investigation allegedly the accident occurred when the defendant failed to adjust the speed of the movement on the national Peja-Mitrovica road, in the village of Cubrel, as it was a turn to the right, has emerged in the opposite strip of the road and hit the Golf vehicle, which has been moving from direction against Mitrovica-Peja, and as a result of the accident three passengers have received serious bodily injuries and was later confirmed by the health care doctor at the QKKMF in Skenderaj driver IVF in Scenderaj that driver IVA. G., dead. While the other three passengers have been sent to Mitrovica Regional Hospital, where two other female passengers have been confirmed, while one child has remained in treatment and is suspected of having serious bodily injuries” - reported in the Court's report.
