Italy against government action, supports EU declaration of closure of parallel structures

The Italian Embassy in Kosovo has backed the European Union's statement on closing parallel structures today where it has named it, a disturbing move.

In a post on the X platform, the embassy has distributed the statement in words of the EU, which says: “The EU claims these actions are contrary to Kosovo's obligations to the EU”.

“Italia fully supports the EU statement below”, it says in posting Italy's embassy.

While, in the EU's response, it says the measures against Kosovo will gradually be removed in line with its steps for lowering tensions in the north, Kosovo's recent “actions are not favourable for that purpose”.

Kosovo's recent <x0) actions against and the closure of structures supported by Serbia, carried out amid the election campaign for the February 9th parliamentary elections, face its obligations to the EU under the normalisation process. E ULEX is monitoring the conduct of these last actions in line with its mandate,” said in the EU statement.
