Kosovo's National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK) calls on citizens to be vaccinated against the seasonal Grid, while in recent weeks there has been a higher intensity of reported cases, characteristic of this flu season.

Kosovo's National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK) calls on citizens to be vaccinated against the seasonal Grid, while in recent weeks there has been a higher intensity of reported cases, characteristic of this flu season.
This has also resulted in increased influx of citizens seeking medical assistance in health institutions.
The seasonal flu is acute infectious disease, which is considered to cause serious health complications, especially among children, the elderly and those with chronic diseases, while flu vaccines are the best way to reduce the risk of infection and spread of the virus.
Since the flu season lasts for several months, I The KSHPK calls on all citizens regardless of age to be vaccinated as a precaution against the flu with particular emphasis on priority groups like:
- Health workers;
- Pregnant women;
- People with chronic diseases and compromised immunity;
- People over 65; and
- Children between 6 and 5 years of age with health indicators.
The Health Ministry has secured 85 000 doses of vaccines for this flu season, and citizens can be held in each municipality at the nearest family medicine centre.
At the same time, I The KSHPK calls on citizens to implement other preventive measures, such as:
- Maintaining personal hygiene;
- Moving close contacts with sick individuals;
- Reducing family visits to hospitalised persons ( SHSKUK, Regional Hospitals;
- Moving updoors and overloaded with people;
- Healthy food with many vitamins;
- Physical activity and adequate sleep;
- Sick people stay home.
- Consulting the doctor for the treatment of flu, which should only be recommended by the doctor.
The vaccine remains the most efficient way to prevent the flu virus, while its effect begins 1 to 2 weeks after receiving, while defence continues about a year after the vaccine.
