Former President Ilir Meta reacted after being questioned by SPAK this Tuesday morning. In his reaction, he apologized for failing to answer the journalists ' questions even in handcuffs.
Meta stressed that he had given clear clarifications and was transparent on the issue of lobbying, showing full respect for Albanian and American laws, while the prosecutor and officer had not given any explanation for his two claims regarding the manner of arrest and investigation into the McGonigal case.
Full Response
I thank the media for announcing yesterday that I would be called to SPAK today, since I still don't have an official notification document to submit.
However, I was willing today to go to the session, which at 10:00, as was made only by the media and delays occurred only because of the SPAK.
I apologize to reporters for not giving me permission that I asked, that, even in handcuffs and company, I would answer their every question.
I want to assure you that I have given very clear clarifications, with my very transparent behavior, to all the questions I have addressed, once again clarifying my full respect for all Albanian and American laws on the issue of lobbiery.
But let me explain to you that it was a session of mutual questions, we answered all their questions, they avoided “for our non-competitive” questions.
Our first question was what is done with our confession delivered on December 6th in the SPAK regarding the criminal and banditish kidnapping.
Since they were interested in the issue of lobbies, after answering all their questions, as president of the Freedom Party, the second opposition force in the country, I asked them two questions about high public interest, namely the issue of illegal lobbies.
First of all, what is done with investigating the McGonigal case, the chief agent of the FBI sentenced to prison because of corruption by the chief international corrupter, currently prime minister?
Second, what about the investigation into the illegal photograph of former President Obama of “Bilal” for which an Albanian-American citizen has been serving prison in the United States?
