Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu said they have submitted comments to the Constitutional Court on opposition parties' claims against the Law on confiscating unwarranted property.
She has written on Facebook Tuesday that the opposition is continuing to ban “the concept of civil seizures in Kosovo”, until she has said that those who have misused office and have become millionaires from the policy will be housed.
The opposition's several-year attempts to stop the concept of civil seizures in Kosovo continue, Today, we submitted to the Constitutional Court comments concerning the opposition's re-proposal claims against the Law on confiscating unwarranted property. Since for the second time this Law is being contested by the opposition to the Constitutional Court, and when we have already addressed each of the tribunal's requests in accordance with the same, we hope that the Court will not again take 16 months to issue the Act. As we have said, those who have misused the task have become millionaires from politics will not be amnified”, the justice minister said.
In 2024, Kosovo's Constitutional Court had nullified the Law for the State Bureau for Verification and Confiscating Unjustible Riches.
In the decision, the Constitution had deemed them contrary to the four article constitution of this law, adding that given the importance of these provisions and without the change and completion of them from the Kosovo Assembly, the Law for the State Bureau “has been declared invalid in its entire body”.
The Constitutional Decision, Haxhiu had named “sabotage in justice reform”.
