Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has reacted to news of the arbitrage decision for ownership of the Grand Hotel.
She said that after this decision, there is no evidence that would allow Behgjet Pacolli ownership of the hotel, but added that the state is obliged to pay back Pacolli's money
Kosovo's “Republic, according to the International Centre for the Selecting of Investments, has found there is no promise, testimony or theory that would enable Behgjet Pacolli ownership of Grand. The only thing Kosovo Republic is tasked with is the return of the monetary value Pacolli had given to AKP on behalf of privatisation. Although he wasn't party to the procedure, The AKP had accepted its means. These are now due to return”, Haxhi said.
Because of 20-year-old fun in state institutions, we still pay off. But these are the last ones. Property on public property is not allowed to anyone. So Grandi remains of Kosovo and its citizens”, she has said.
Behgjet Pacolli has announced that his company “Mabco Construction Int” has won arbitration in the case of the Grand Hotel towards the state of Kosovo.
He has said that the Kosovo government should now return the amount paid by his company for a “object, which, due to its refusal to pay tribute, was never recognised, although the fee was paid in time (in 2006)”.
