Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is not going in the right direction.
Neither side is showing the will to compromise, just as dialogue facilitators are seeking.
But as the American president, Donald Trump, arrived, dialogue on this new dynamic is expected.
So says German politician Lars Patrick Berg, who has also called on the parties to do more in the process.
Because of the war in Ukraine and the Middle East, many things have changed in geopolitical terms. These are some of the reasons the international community has shifted attention from the problems between Kosovo and Serbia. I consider it very important to turn the focus on these two countries to move forward towards the European family. With the arrival of US President-elect Donald Trump, I believe we will see more progress in Washington and Brussels on the question of dialogue”, Patrick Berg said.
The former German delegation to the European Parliament says convinced that there can be no lasting peace in the Balkans unless Kosovo and Serbia normalise reports with each other.
Germany has been involved for a long time in the region. Germany is a friendly state of Kosovo and its citizens. The future German government must prioritize the issue of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia in order to achieve peace and security in the Western Balkan region. Without resolving this node cannot have lasting peace in the Balkans”, he said.
Despite the internal problems facing the EU, German politician coming from the party “Alliance for Germany” says Kosovo should not stop towards the final goal of membership in the big European family.
He expects Kosovo to join NATO one day at a time.
It is true that the European Union is currently facing many challenges and problems. However, as the EU has witnessed in the past it will overcome these challenges and survive. Kosovo must work as hard as it can to become part of the EU and NATO, I am convinced it will achieve these goals in the future”, the German politician said. For the continuation of the dialogue, the country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, has in some cases called on Serbia to hand over Milan Radojici, who has accepted responsibility for organising the attack, as well as from Vuciqi to sign the Base Agreement. /Tve1
